" Imagine what that must have been like for her... she was married to the man she truly loved, and they were having their first child together, and she must have been so worried when the baby came early. And after all of that, the first time she tried to hold that baby, to see it changed into a strange animal, how horrifying that would be to a new mother... any mother. I know now that when a mother has a child who is cursed by the Zodiac, often she'll feel the need to be overly protective of it, or she'll reject it completely. Mama is one of the ones who rejected her child. She rejected me with her entire body."
After seeing that episode I wondered. What about Shigure, Hatori, and Ayme? Were they rejected? Is that why Hatori's so cut off? Or where they over protective and made them unable to see other people's points of views like Ayame?
I also wanted to make Hatori more true to his zodiac. A dragon and a sea horse mix. Just something I'm rather proud of.
